Mamta Modern Sr. Sec. School, Vikas Puri New Delhi participated in “PHAD SE PHAD – A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE TO HANDLE AND CREATE AN ART FORM”. This strategy aligns with the New Education policy of 2022 and aims to broaden the learning horizon for young minds. This policy envisioned the learning experience as enriching, exploratory and purposeful. The idea of experiential learning that enables the learner to understand, learn, discover the varied facets of a concept through activities and certain teaching strategies makes the process of learning meaningful and effective.

The Art of Phad

Phad Se Padh, is a great initiative to the importance of Indian traditional art and develop an appreciation in young minds of India’s history and heritage. This initiative emphasizes interdisciplinary connections with various subjects. By integrating Indian traditional art into education, Phad Se Padh promotes a holistic and comprehensive approach to learning. This project delves into the concept, implementation, and impact of Phad Se Padh, highlighting its potential in fostering a well-rounded education.

By partnering with Rooftop, Mamta Modern School demonstrates its dedication to innovative and experiential learning approaches.  Art Integration Learning for Holistic Education

 Conclusion

The biggest takeaway was the opportunity it gave everyone involved to delve deeper into the concept- the historical importance, researching in detail about certain unknown facts, integrating art into the subject while honing skills of creativity, and collaboration that made the whole project meaningful and memorable.

It’s heartening to see initiatives like Phad Se Padh that recognize the value of traditional art and heritage, while also providing interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Such projects not only contribute to the preservation of cultural knowledge but also help in nurturing young minds and fostering a deeper appreciation for India’s diverse history.

Teacher’s Experience

It was a great learning experience attending a workshop with Mr. Sandeep who explained the whole concept of the Phad art.

The Phad project on the Indigo Rebellion began with selecting students and teachers who were adept at different skills such as art, painting, and languages. The team researched the topic extensively and the cooperation and support of the team members was remarkable.

A concept as broad and varied as the Indigo Rebellion which would have otherwise taken a long time to learn and understand was now made easy and understandable through the colourful scheme, a creative art form called Phad. The creativity, skills and beauty, and colour of the characters brought a fresh perspective to the understanding of the topic.

It was an amazing way of teaching something new. The students were empowered to learn beyond the classroom. This platform provided a dynamic and empowering educational approach beyond traditional classroom learning. It fostered creativity, critical thinking, cultural appreciation, and a love for learning.

Phad se Padh, is a great initiative to the importance of Indian traditional art and develop an appreciation in young minds of India’s history and heritage.

We jotted down the important points, collected the data from various sources and took help from our teachers. We tried to include every single detail while working on this project. The right colour combination and the Phad characters were all dealt with to create the right effect. We delved into the history and origin of Phad Art, researched the intricate details of the art form, and were introduced to an art form that enhanced our understanding of the art. We presented our paintings, self-composed song, and dance to understand the topic in a better way.

I worked with my team for a few weeks but performing at such a great platform was an entirely different experience. The thrill l got before and after this is priceless. The whole team was really glad to be part of this wonderful initiative. It was an amazing way of learning something new. We were empowered to learn beyond the classroom.
